Robert Stigwood, who managed the Bee Gees and was the godfather of BG
Robin Gibb's son and who produced the musical movie “Grease,” died Monday. He
was 81.
Stigwood also managed Cream.
His company worked on Eric Clapton‘s post-Cream career and produced
theatrical hits "Hair," "Oh! Calcutta!" and "Evita"
and the movies "Saturday Night Fever" (music by the Bee Gees),
"Jesus Christ Superstar," "Tommy" and "Grease,"
which starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. And "Evita,"
starring Madonna as Argentina dictator Juan Peron’s wife.
