Award for river-protector Ken Krause

Former Beacon Journal Sports Department resident Ken Krause was given the Ripple Award in October by the Mystic River Watershed Association for his efforts in protecting the integrity of the Massachusetts river.

Ken Krause
Ken, who lives in Medford, Massachusetts with wife Maura McEnaney, has been involved with the Mystic River Watershed Association, Friends of the Mystic River, Medford Green Line Neighborhood Alliance, Communications Committee of Walk Boston and is a bicycle advocate.

As if that isn’t enough to keep Ken busy, he submits items to the Medford Patch, a local online newsgathering site. Patch web sites are all over the country, including in a variety of Summit, Medina and Portage communities.

Ken and Maura live on, appropriately, Mystic Street in Medford.
