John Wayne co-star quieted

Maureen O’Hara, the fiery redhead who tamed John Wayne in “The Quiet Man,” passed away at the age of 95 in her Boise, Idaho home.

The family statement said she was listening to music from that film surrounded by her family when she died.

She was born in Dublin, Ireland on August 17, 1920.

She also was with Wayne in “McLintock” and in the Christmas classic, “Miracle on 34th Street.” Her first movie was “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” The Wayne/O’Hara kiss in “The Quiet Man” is a movie classic, too.

O’Hara starred with Henry Fonda in “Spencer’s Mountain,” which became “The Waltons” TV series, and with Walter Pidgeon in “How Green Was My Valley,” another classic.

In real life, she married three times.
