Retired BJ driver Art Yengling passes away

Arthur H. "Art" Yengling, 76, of Clearwater, Fla., passed away on Jan. 12th after a 4 1/2 year battle with Lymphoma. 

He lived in Clearwater, Fla. for the last 15 years and his prior residence was Suffield, Ohio. He was a graduate of Ellet High School Class of 1956. 

He was employed at the Akron Beacon Journal as a driver in the circulation department and retired with many safe driver awards after 24 years. 

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and he held membership in the Largo, Fla. V.F.W., and was also a member of the Wayfarer Lodge No. 789 in Akron, Ohio as well as a 33rd Degree Mason. He was a past-Member of the Suffield Lions Club and current member of the Handyman Club of America. 

Art enjoyed all cars, especially antique classics and owned many during his life. He loved woodworking and made family members timeless pieces including a grand-mother clock.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Barbara. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jane; daughter, Jennifer (Don) Jones of Kent, Ohio; grandchildren, Katherine (Katie) Calvin and Tyler Jones; brothers, Ted F. (Gudi) Yengling of Sarasota, Fla. and Tom D. (Peggy) Yengling of Spotsylvania, Va. A memorial service is being planned for August. Information may be found at a later date at www.alifetribute.com.
