FRANKLIN TWP. -- Frank Reeves, 85, passed away peacefully on February 10, at the St. Luke Lutheran Community in Franklin Twp.
Born
in Akron on March 21, 1927 to the late Frank and Lena Reeves, Frank had
been a lifetime area resident. He was a graduate of Hower High School
and served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He retired from the Akron Beacon Journal in 1987 with 30 years of
service. Frank was a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church. He
was an avid golfer and vegetable gardener, who loved to share his
harvest with others.
In addition to his parents, Frank was
preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Jean; siblings,
Albert, Tom, Charles, Mary, and Edward. He is survived by his children,
Linda (John) Moore, Michael Reeves, and David (Allison) Reeves; former
daughter-in-law, Tammie; and grandchildren, J.R. and McKinzie; as well
as great-grandchildren. Frank also leaves behind his close friend, Sue
Grogan and his walking buddy, Leonard.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis
deSales Catholic Church on Manchester Rd. A private inurnment of ashes
will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in
Rittman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the
American Lung Association
