Olesky's 25-year watch

This photo was taken in 1983 for the 15-year anniversary of my employment at the Beacon Journal, retiree John Olesky reports. . This was when the BJ held dinners for the various anniversary milestones. I still have the excellent watch presented to me as a 20-year employee.

Email from Tom Moore about the BJ watch:

john:
we're in fla at the moment with our daughter and son-in-law. go back to maryland saturday. hope to get home soon after that.
read about your watch. i had to have a new battery put in my 25 year watch. the jeweler says since it's a richard weill, it's worth at a minimum of $1,000. so it appears the folks didn't go cheap in those days. if you call up the weil watch on the internet, you'll find some that run high, high.
take care
