BJ Composing retiree Rita Fay Stapleton reports that BJ Composing
retiree Regina White is recovering after her triple bypass heart surgery.
Gina, who lives in Venice, Florida, is the widow of former BJ
Composing foreman Dave White, who passed away in 2012.
Paula and I had lunch with Gina at Turtle’s Restaurant on Siesta
Key, adjacent to Sarasota, in 2013.
A lot of hurricanes caused nervous times for Dave and Gina.
In January a tornado touched down a mile from Gina’s Venice home,
where she moved after a few decades of living in Sarasota.
Hurricane Charley hit to the west of their home and Hurricane
Frances to the east of their home in the same hurricane season several years
ago.
In 2004 they watched apprehensively when four hurricanes worked
their way north along Florida, including three that hit Punta Gorda, which is 28
miles from Venice.
