editor Bob Springer and Barbara Hipsman Springer celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary on Friday, Sept. 1 in Fort Myers, Florida.
Barbara posted:
“Yep… let’s see September 1, 1979…
happy anniversary to the sweetest guy ever. You put up with my schemes and
moods and downright tomfoolery. To another 50 or 50? Happy Anniversary to US!

Trivia:
Bob Springer’s
father studied accounting in night school at Loyola in Chicago for a time, but
didn't finish. With four kids to feed (four boys in 38 months from birth of
first to birth of fourth -- yikes), no surprise there. One of his classmates
was Bob Newhart.
Bob also was on the Kent State faculty
at one time. Barbara retired from Kent State in 2013 after 26 years in Journalism
and Mass Communication.
