HELEN DIETZ PASSES AWAY



Helen Dietz, whose spent 29 years at the BJ as secretary to Classified Advertising phone bank managers Helen Becton and Nancy Whitehead, passed away Thursday, December 9.

She was 101 years old.

Helen was born at her home in Akron. She was married to Everett Bud Dietz in April of 1946 and they had two sons together, Patrick (married to Linda) and Michael. Helen has two grandchildren: Amy (Adam) Barton and Andy (Jen) Dietz and three great-grandchildren: Lydia Barton, Marlee Fox and Zach Dietz.

Helen spent decades working in the Stow Alliance Church office and turned out oodles of handmade greeting cards for her friends and family.

STOW - Helen E. Dietz, age 101, went home to be with the Lord December 9, 2021.

 

She was a member of Stow Alliance Fellowship where she served as Office Volunteer, Vice-Chairman of Prime Timers, Secretary to Alliance Women for 26 years, and served on the Deaconess Board. She was retired with 29 years’ service as Secretary to the Manager of the Classified Advertising Department of the Akron Beacon Journal. 

 

Preceded in death by husband, Everett (Bud), she is survived by her sons, Patrick (Linda) and Michael; niece, Gloria Dawson; sister, Mary Ann Correia; grandchildren, Amy (Adam) Barton and Andy (Jen); greatgrandchildren, Lydia Joy, Marlee, and Zachary; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

 

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, for visitation Friday 4 to 7 PM. Rev. Arnold Fleagle will conduct service Saturday 11 AM at Stow Alliance Fellowship, 4460 Stow Road, Stow. Burial Greenlawn Memorial Park.
