Alton A. Brown was named vice president of advertising at the Beacon Journal on Monday. Brown has been vice president of advertising at Newspaper Networrk of Central Ohio since 2000, overseeing ad operations at 10 daily and 14 weekly publications and 25 telephone directories. He also worked several years at the Macon Telegraph, a Knight-Ridder newspaper before the breakup.
