Marge Lane passes away

Marge Lane, who supervised the BJ Classified phone bank till her 1988 retirement, passed away Wednesday, December 13. She was 94.

Charles Lane, her husband for 72 years, passed away in 2015.

Their children are Linda Mahan, married to Richard Mahan; Carole Luck; Janet Sparrow, married to Michael Sparrow; and Charles Lane II, married to Jeanne Lane.

Marge’s final residence at Brookdale Senior Living in Stow, part of a national chain for assisted living.

Helen Becton was Marge’s predecessor in the Classified phone bank.

TOGETHER FOREVER

Marjorie Louise Lane, 94, of Cuyahoga Falls, transitioned to eternal life on December 13, 2017.

She was born in Mason City, Illinois on April 26, 1923. Marjorie was a charter member of West Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served in many other capacities, was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Haven of Rest and retired from the Akron Beacon Journal in 1988.

Her loving husband of 72 years, Charles, passed away May 31, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Helena (Jere) Edwards and sister, Helen McCoy. She is survived by daughters, Linda (Richard) Mahan, Carole Luck, Janet (Michael) Sparrow; son, Charles Lane II (Jeanne); former daughter-in-law, Leian Couchman and former son-in-law, Tom Luck; grandchildren: Tammy Brown, Laurie (Christopher) Dunn, Chad Mahan; John (Cheryl) Luck, David (Kelli) Luck, Scott (Rosie) Luck and Susan (Yann) Luck-Mottin; Nikki, Jamie and Chris Sparrow, Jessie (Aaron) Helbling; Matthew and David Lane; great-grandchildren, Brittany Susco, Lindsay Brown, Brian and Jason Luck, Jackson, Helena and Cody Luck, Alastor Dalzell, Elsie Sue Luck; Kaden and Addy Sparrow, Zeda Lane and Madison Helbling; brothers, Leonard (Faith) McCoy, Robert (Joan) McCoy; sister, Onalee Roberts; as well as many other extended family members and friends including Illinois family members, Claude Walker, Cathy (Howard) Ziegler, Joyce (Don) King and Darrell McCoy.

Marge’s family would like to thank Brookdale Stow Senior Living for the wonderful care they provided Marge. A service celebrating Marge’s life will be held at West Hill Baptist Church, 605 N. Revere Rd., Akron, OH 44333, on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Keith Marlett and Rev. Aaron Varner officiating. Friends may call Sunday, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Billow Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., and Monday, from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorials may be made in her honor to West Hill Baptist Church or The Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44308.
