The New York Times is offering buyouts for the fourth
time in five years, with up to 30 highly paid newsroom managers the main
target.
The Times newsroom employs about 1,150 people
— about its size in 2003.
The staff has until Jan. 24 to accept the
buyout offer.
Times print revenues are down 10.9 percent
and digital ad revenues down 2.2 percent for the third quarter.
