Raul Ramirez, 67, who took on such subjects as San
Francisco’s Chinatown gangs, jail conditions and migrant farmers, died Friday.
He worked for the Chronicle, Examiner, KQED public radio, Miami Herald,
Washington Post and Oakland Tribune.
He died from esophageal cancer in Berkeley, California.
