JSK was a great businessman, but a greater editor. When Knight Newspapers went public onto the stock market, he told Wall Street that he would NOT let them tell him how to run his newspapers. Tony Ridder wasn't fit to carry Jack Knight's typewriter ribbon. TR presided over the death of JSK's life of work.
