Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam fired General Manager Ray
Farmer and Head Coach Mike Pettine. Pettine was in Cleveland for 2 seasons.
Farmer had his job for 1 year.
Since the NFL gives equal money to every team and better draft
picks to the teams with the worse records, the only difference between teams is
managemet, starting with Haslam.
The Browns have been a mess since becoming an expansion team in 1996 after the real Browns went to Baltimore with owner Art Modell and
Ozzie Newsome became a draft wizard.
Farmer joined the
organization in March 2013 as the Assistant General Manager and was promoted to
General Manager in February 2014.
Pettine was named
the 15th full-time head coach of the Browns on January 23, 2013. In two full
seasons with the team he compiled a 10-22 record.
