Ed Sherman, in Poynter.com, has an interesting about former BJ
sports wrtier Brian Windhorst hitching his wagon to LeBron James long before
the St. Vincent basketball player became a superstar.
Windhorst had to beg his
editor at the Akron Beacon Journal to report on LeBron’s games with St. V,
before the world discovered LeBron. That was in 1999.
Since, Brian has covered LeBron in Cleveland, Miami and back in
Cleveland, parlaying himself into an ESPN job as an NBA reporter and teamed with Dave McMenamin on a new book, "Return of the King:
LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Greatest Comeback in NBA History.".
Brian observes: “Everyone around
LeBron has been pulled up by him.”
