Former BJ and current PD pop critic Mark Dawidziak, author of “Everything I Needed to Know I Learned From The Twilight Zone,” will premiere his “Twilight Show” on stage at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13 with wife Sara Showman.

They will be converting genius Rod Serling’s “Twilight Zone” as a stage “journey into the wondrous land of imagination.” I can’t imagine how Mark will pull this one off at the Nordonia Hills Library.

“Everything … Twilight Zone” is the 15^th book that Mark has written or edited. He’s gaining on the prolific Terry Pluto, who wrote chapters to his many books while riding an airplane to Cavalier games. Terry is closing in on 30 books.

Mark and Sara’s Mostly Literary Theater has performed shows tied to Edgar Allan Poe, Mark Twain, Charles Dickens and the Civil War in the area and, in the cast of Twain, around the country including places where Twain himself once trod the land.

As for “Twilight Zone” the stage play, Mark tells me “we'll be performing this one many more times over the next few months in Northeast Ohio. Just as soon as we get a couple under our belt.”

Mark lives in Cuyahoga Falls with wife Sara and daughter Becky and various animals.

“Twilight Zone” aired from 1959 to 1964, but lives forever in the minds of those who watched the crafty Cincinnatian’s chilling life lessons.

Serling once said, ““Every writer is a frustrated actor who recites his lines in the hidden auditorium of his skull.”

In Mark’s case, his auditoria are both in his skull and in his stage performances. In athletics parlance, he’s a two-sport player.

Pluto was at the Plain Dealer (1979-84), then the BJ (1985-2007) and then back to the PD (2007-today).
