One of the Fiddlers passes away

It's sunset time for one of The Fiddlers on the Roof.

Brooklyn native Philip Fyvush Finkel, 93, died today.

Fyvush Finkel
He started as the innkeeper when Zero Mostel played fiddler Tevye in the 1964 Broadway show.  For the 1981 Broadway revival, Fyvush played the butcher. He played Tevye when “Fiddler” toured the country.
Topol was Tevye in the “Fiddler on the Roof” movie.
Finkel began his career more than 80 years ago.
He was in “Little Shop of Horrors and won an Emmy as eccentric public defender Douglas Wambaugh on “Picket Fences” TV series.
His funeral will be Wednesday at Sutton Place Synagogue in New York City.
Sunrise, sunset. Birth, death. I guess that sums up all our lives.
