Vandals
cut down 10 century-old black walnut trees planted by O.C. Barber in Barberton.
The
wood is sprawled over the site near the wishing well. The tree trunks are 30 inches across.
Barberton
Historical Society owns the property.
O.C. Barber owned the Diamond Match Company, which once controlled
80% of the match sticks market. It made 250 million matches A DAY.
He had a 52-room mansion on his 3,000 acres in Barberton.
Eight of the structures on Anna Dean Farm survive.
The O.C. stands for Ohio Columbus. Honest.
