Mizell in Asia on study tour
Former Beacon Journal managing editor Mizell Stewart III is in Asia
on a study tour -- five days in Seoul, six in China and three in
Japan.
Mizell became managing director of content for the new
Journal Media Group after the spinoff of the Scripps newspaper division, where
Mizell was vice president/content of the Scripps newspaper division.

Wisconsin–based Journal
Communications merged its 13 television stations and 35 radio stations into
Cincinnati-based Scripps.
Twinsburg native and
Bowling Green graduate Mizell worked in Tallahassee, Florida before coming to
the BJ in 2006.
Bruce Winges succeeded Mizell as the highest ranking newsroom
person in 2007, when Bruce was named BJ vice president/editor and Mizell became
Evansville, Indiana Courier & Press editor for one of Scripps’ newspapers.
Mizell succeeded
Debra Adams Simmons as the BJ’s top newsroom management.
