Catching up with . . . Murv Perry

Murv Perry, at 93, and living in Tennessee

Murv Perry is  93 but the former South Dakota farm boy and Kent State University journalism dean is living in Johnson City, Tennessee and still brimming with opinions about what’s wrong with today’s journalists.

They all want to be Woodward and Bernstein, so they practice “gotcha” journalism, Murv says.

Murv finished his career at East Tennessee State, setting up the school’s journalism program.

Murv has another interest at this stage of his life, retoring his 1966 Mustang Fastback and 1935 Ford Cabriolet, and authoring “Murv’s Motoring Memories.”
