13 at BJ win state awards

The Beacon Journal won first place in various state competitions.

Photographers Phil Masturzo and Ed Suba, reporters Betty Linn-Fisher, Nate Ulrich, Marla Rodenour, Ryan Lewis, Katie Byard, Mary Beth Breckenridge, Paula Schleis, Doug Livingston, Rick Steinhauser, Mark Turner, Bob DeMay were all first in one category or another.

That’s 13 staff members, out of just over 60 total. The other 47 must feel really left out.
