ABJ equipment on (virtual) auction block

A Birminghman lathe is among the auction items. 

With the Beacon Journal presses quiet now that the paper is printed in Canton, the company is selling off the equipment formerly used by the Mechanical Services department to maintain pressroom operations.

Kiko Auctioneers of Canton is conducting an online only auction of 270 lots of items from the Beacon Journal plant. Items range from large equipment such as a lathe, drill press, milling machine and band saw, to small hand tools and tool storage units. Also being offered are motor and pumps, stepladders and rolling ladders, stainless steel sinks, metal lockers and cabinets, desks and file cabinets, and much more.

The online auction opens at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, and concludes at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26. A preview session will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, March 24, in the basement of the building at 44 E. Exchange St.
