70% pay raise, but not for Cathy Strong

How'd you like 70% increase in your pay? That's what was announced this week. So Govt undersecretaries are making US$18k a month. But only for Emirates!! Poor me.

The "pay" includes 40% actual wages and 60% for benefits in the United Arab Emirate, where Cathy

is a communication and media sciences professor at Zayed University in Dubai. The United Arab Emirate is in the Middle East. For decades, former BJ reporter Cathy did similar work in New Zealand.

United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven independent states in the southeastern corner of the Arabian Peninsula. It is bordered by the Persian Gulf to the north, Saudi Arabia to the south and west, and Oman and the Gulf of Oman to the east.
