Casting a ' no' vote for P. Anthony Ridder

If you did not sell the McClatchy stock issued to you when Knight Ridder succumbed, you should have received a big package in the mail this week with a proxy card asking you to approve the election of four members of the board of directors and to ratify the appointment of Deloitte & Touche to audit McClatchy for fiscal 2007. On item one you can vote for all nominees except those you have marked or withold your vote for all nominees. There is a little box below which allows you to write in the number of any director you do not wish to elect. You thus could write 03 to say you do not wish to elect P. Anthony Ridder. So check that card out. You just might want to send it in.
