Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach have found the Magic Potion with the latest Black Keys album. Carney, son of BJ staffer Jim Carney, provides the lurching rhythmic foundation and guitarist and vocalist Auerbach pulls out the combination of notes that get listeners’ heads nodding. That’s the way BJ critic Malcolm Abram describes it in a huge review and photo taking up the top two thirds of the Premier front (Section E) of Sunday’s newspaper.
“We’re both really happy with the record, and it’s exciting and nerve-wracking because we’re hoping fans will like the record," said Carney.
Magic Potion is the fourth album for the Firestone High graduates.
