Two old guys at lunch
What can be said other than these are two old BJ types having lunch together--proving once again that it is nice to be retired.
For youngsters who do not recognize them it is Tom Moore (at left) and Dave Boerner.
When Tom was in the Composing Room, I evaluated the seriousness of the situation by how many "goddammits" Tom uttered. As we got closer to deadline, the GDs also got closer together.
Darn it, Harry, now you're making me long for the "good ol' days." If only retirement weren't so darn much fun, I'd think about the GODs more.
Lest someone get the idea that Tom,s and my headbutting was anything but literal, we both had big bumps on our foreheads to show for it...
We rounded a corner in the corridors at the same time with our heads bowed and banged into each other full force. The only time an editor brought me to my knees...

What do you mean, "Old Guys"? I don't see any "Old Guys".
ReplyDeleteRelatively speaking, that is.

Been to Alaska lately?
I got along great with Dave, one of the nicest guys on the planet but I butted heads with Tom.
