Going, going, gone: End of an era
The end of an era came Wednesday, May 25, 2005, as a crane lowered the Akron Beacon Journal's old clock tower onto a flatbed truck. The 26-foot, 4,800-pound tower, part of the city's skyline since 1966, will be stripped for parts by junkyard artist P.R. Miller. (Beacon Journal photo by Paul Tople)
Not that I get to Akron all that often, but I'll miss seeing the old tower when I do.
ReplyDeleteBut, hey! I'll get to read advertising on the new digital one. Won't that be fun?
